Each year, FD NOW hosts several events, including two annual events; an on-line auction and golf outing/dinner.

If you love planning events, we’ve got opportunities for you!  Whether it’s donating auction items, rallying event co-sponsors, or writing press releases, your involvement will help make a positive impact on the life of someone with FD.  Come join us in planning future events by sharing your expertise!

Here’s a line-up of our annual events and a sample of a few past events:

FD NOW On-line Auction Fundraiser (annual)  - In winter, over 300 people log on to browse, shop, and vie for over 200 fun, functional and trendy items including state-of-the-art electronics, swanky jewelry and practical gift cards. This entertaining 10 days of excitement raises close to $20,000.

Join us next year on March 2-12, 2012 for our 5th Annual FD NOW On-line Auction Fundraiser.  Provide us with your current e-mail address to ensure your participation.

David Z. Herman Memorial Gala Dinner (annual) - In spring, donors gather together in Oceanside, NY to benefit FD NOW. The event attracts over 200 dinner guests and raises over $100,000. The fundraiser memorializes David Z. Herman, whose 7-year old granddaughter is afflicted with FD.  At dinner, Drs. Rubin and Anderson presents an update from the Laboratory for Familial Dysautonomia Research at Fordham University in New York. This is followed by a raffle drawing and silent auction. David’s granddaughter, along with hundreds of others with FD, continue to benefit from this lab’s discoveries, which include several natural compounds and a nutritional regimen.
